I believe designers play a much larger role in society that is recognised. I’ve always believed good design has one of two roles: to stand out or to go unnoticed. When people hear that I’m studying graphic design, their first impression is that I’m an animator or app designer or illustrator. In reality my role is a communicator – to create designs that assist people in decision making.
My passion for visual arts was inspired by both my Nan and Mum. From a young age they were always encouraging me to create, whether it be a finger painting or sewing a blanket, each project had a purpose.
The purpose of designing hasn’t always been as clear but as a student I’m beginning to understand the complexity and process of creating effective design.
